A striking lollipop-trained standard that brings year-round structure and a blaze of vivid colour to any garden. New growth emerges icolourful before maturing to glossy, deep green — giving the plant an almost theatrical two-tone effect through the seasons. Trained into a neat ball atop a clear stem, it's ideal for framing doorways, anchoring a patio scheme, or adding formal elegance to contemporary gardens.
Care
Thrives in full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. Water regularly when establishing, then moderate once settled. Feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring. Clip the ball head in late spring and again in summer after new red growth flushes to maintain its shape. Shelter from harsh, prolonged frost and cold desiccating winds, especially when young.
