Returns & Refunds

Last updated 21 September 2026

The short version

Whatever you buy from us, if it arrives damaged, faulty, or isn’t what you ordered, we’ll put it right — full stop, that’s a legal right and it’s never affected by anything below. Because plants are living, perishable goods, they aren’t covered by the usual “changed my mind” return window that applies to most online shopping — but our other gifts and hampers are.

Live plants

Plants deteriorate quickly once out of the ground or their growing conditions, so by law they’re excluded from the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right. We can’t offer a refund simply because you’ve changed your mind after collection or delivery.

That doesn’t mean you’re unprotected. If a plant arrives dead, diseased, significantly damaged in transit, or isn’t the one you ordered, contact us within 48 hours with a couple of photos and we’ll replace it or refund you, whichever you ’d prefer. Ordinary variation in size, shape or colour between the photo and the plant you receive isn’t a fault — that’s just how plants are.

Hampers, gifts, clothing and other goods

These aren’t perishable in the same way, so the standard right applies: you can change your mind within 14 days of receiving the item, as long as it’s unused and in its original condition (an opened food hamper can’t be resold, so we’d ask you to let us know before opening it if you think you might return it). Contact us to arrange the return — you’re responsible for getting the item back to us unless it’s faulty or wrongly sent, in which case we’ll cover it.

Gift vouchers

Gift vouchers are non-refundable once purchased, except where we’re required by law to refund them (for example, if we’re unable to fulfil an order and there’s a balance left on the voucher).

How to request a refund or replacement

Email shop@spaldingfarmshop.co.uk with your quote or order reference, what’s wrong, and photos if you have them. We’ll come back to you as quickly as we can and agree the next step.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the original payment method, normally within 14 days of us agreeing the refund with you.
